Milk shakes/smoothies are also with rum

 

Leave milk shakes

 

Galapagos Smoothie

1 quart (1 liter) vanilla ice cream
¼ water melon (or ½ if it is a small one)
1 punnet fresh strawberries
5 jiggers orange juice
Fresh cherries for decoration


Remove the flesh from the water melon. Wash and hull the strawberries.
Mix the water melon, strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Pour into tall
glasses and decorate with a fresh strawberry and cherries hung over the
Edge of the glass. Serve with a straw or a long spoon. 

If you want to cut down on the calories, you could use plain or strawberry-
flavored yogurt instead of ice cream.

 

 

Strawberry Smoothie
(Serves 1 - ca. 2 minutes preparation time)
 
1 oz (60 g) frozen strawberries
¾ cup (1-½ dl) cold yogurt
1-2 tablespoons powdered sugar
¼ cup cream
Dash of vanilla (or vanilla pod*)
 
Place all ingredients in a mixer or blender - scrape a little of the vanilla 
pod or a dash of vanilla and add to the ingredients. Blend until smooth. 
Add more sugar if desired. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass and serve 
immediately.

 

Filur

2 jiggers vodka
4 jiggers orange juice
Red soft drink 

Pour the vodka into a tall glass, add orange juice and top with red soft
drink. Add 2-3 cubes of ice and decorate with a slice of orange over
the edge of the glass. Serve with a long spoon or straw. Do not stir
before serving. 

 

Strawberry Rum Cooler
(Makes 4 drinks)

2 cups (4 dl / 16 fl oz / 500 ml) white wine
4 shots (jiggers) of dark rum
10-15 fresh strawberries
2-3 ice cubes (or crushed ice)
Juice from 1 orange
Powdered sugar to taste (ca. 1 tsp per glass)

Place all ingredients in a mixer and mix until smooth and serve.

Elderberry Cooler
(Makes 4 drinks)


1-1/2 cups (3 dl / 12 fl oz / 375 ml) white wine
1 cup (1/2 dl / 4 fl oz / 125 ml) elderberry drink*
Juice of 2 limes
15-20 fresh strawberries
Powdered sugar to taste
Couple of ice cubes
Extra lime juice
Extra powdered sugar


Place the elderberry drink, juice of the 2 limes, fresh strawberries, and ice 
cubes and blend until smooth. Add powdered sugar to taste (about 1 tsp
per serving). Dip the edge of the glass into the extra lime juice and then
into powdered sugar to form a sweet edge to the glass. Fill the glass with
the drink mixture and serve.

*Elderberry drink is made with elderberry concentrate mixed with
water and sugar.

Strawberry Mint Cooler
(Makes 4 drinks)


3 cups (6 dl / 24 fl oz / 750 ml) white wine
20-25 fresh strawberries
2 shots (jiggers) mint liqueur (optional)
2-4 ice cubes
Juice of 2-3 lemons 
1-2 Tbsp powdered sugar
5-8 fresh mint leaves


Place white wine, fresh strawberries, mint liqueur, and ice cubes
in a blender and blend until smooth. Add lemon juice and powdered
sugar to taste. Chop the mint leaves and sprinkle a little in each glass
before serving.

Milkshake with StrawberriesMilkshake with Strawberries
(Makes 4 drinks)


2-1/2 cups (5 dl / 20 fl oz / 625 ml) milk
8-1/2 oz (250 g) fresh or frozen strawberries (thawed)
2 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp vanilla ice cream


In a blender, combine milk, strawberries, and sugar and blend for about 
30-40 seconds. Add the ice cream and blend for 2-3 seconds more.
Serve in 4 tall glasses. Add one or two fresh sliced strawberries on top
with a sprig of mint for decoration

Mango Shake
(Philippine Style)

2 fresh, ripe mangoes
¼ cup milk
½ cup crushed ice
1-2 tsp sugar (if necessary)


Slice the mangoes in half along either side of the pit. Scoop out
the fleshy part of the mangoes with a spoon and place in a blender.
Add the milk and crushed ice* and blend the shake at high speed for 
10-20 seconds or until the mangoes, milk and ice are well mixed and
10-21 smooth. Add a little sugar if necessary. Serve immediately.

*It is important that you crush the ice before you add it to the mango
mixture. You may break your blender if the ice chunks are too large.

Peach ShakePeach Shake
(Makes 4 drinks)


Tinned peaches (ca. 14 oz / 420 g)
½ liter (2 cups / 1 pint ) buttermilk
5 tbsp sugar
1 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
10 ice cubes

Pour the peaches in a colander or sieve to let the liquid drain. Place them in 
a blender and blend them at the highest speed for about 10 seconds. Add 
buttermilk, sugar and lime juice. Blend mixture again at the highest speed for 
about 10 seconds.

Crush the ice cubes either in an ice crusher or place in a tea towel and
wrap them firmly; crush with a meat tenderiser or pastry roller. Divide
The crushed ice equally into 4 tall glasses and add the peach shake. 
Decorate with a fresh sprig of parsley and a maraschino cherry. Serve
with or without straws.

Yogurt and Strawberry SmoothieYogurt and Strawberry Smoothie
(Makes 1 large drink)

1 Cup (2 dl / 8 fl oz / 250 ml) strawberry yogurt
½ Cup (1 dl / 4 fl oz / 125 ml) milk (skim milk)
1 ripe banana
½ Cup (1 dl / 4 oz / 120 g) frozen strawberries 


Place all ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed until the mixture
is smooth and serve.

Raspberry-Orange Smoothie
(Serves 4)


3 Cups (6 dl / 24 oz / 750 ml) natural, mild yogurt
1 Cup (2 dl / 8 fl oz / 250 ml) orange juice
½ Cup (1 dl / 8 oz / 240 g) fresh or frozen raspberries
2 Tbsp powdered sugar


Place all ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed until mixture
is smooth and serve.

Melon and Strawberry Drink

Mix equal parts melon* and strawberries. Add a little water or milk,
Add a little sugar if desired. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend
until mixture is smooth. Place some ice cubes in a tall glass and fill with
melon and strawberry mixture. Place a fresh strawberry or slice of melon
over edge of glass and serve.
*Cantaloupe or honey melon are nice with strawberries.

Strawberry Flavor

(1 glass)

 

2 Tbsp. vanilla ice-cream

1/2 dl. strawberry juice

2 dl. whole milk (full-cream milk)

 

 

Golden

(1 glass)

 

3/4 dl. orange  juice

2 dl. buttermilk

sugar

orange juice slice (shown in picture.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raspberry Milk

(2 glasses)

 

1/4 liter butter milk

 1 1/2 dl. yoghurt natural

1/2-1 dl. ice-cold sweet raspberry juice

1/2-1 Tbsp. icing sugar

10-15 raspberries (about 50 g)

 

Mix the buttermilk, yoghurt, juice and icing sugar together in a bowl. (Taste as you go along.)  

First add the raspberry milk and then the raspberries in two tall glasses.

 ip: You can also use different fruit juices.

 

Orange Juice Shake

(2 glasses)

 

6 ice-cubes

2 dl. Orange juice

1/2 banana in small pieces. (50 g)

1 Tspn. freshly pressed lemon

2 Tspn. sugar

2 dl. milk

 

     Add the ice-cubes and ingredients in a blender. Mix on the highest speed for about 20 sec. Put the orange juice shake in two tall glasses. Serve cold and with straws.

 

 

Ice Bear

(2 glasses)

 

1/4 liter milk

1/2 dl. ice cold vodka

1/2 dl. ice cold cocoa liqueur

2 tsp. brown sugar.

 

     Add the milk, vodka, and brown sugar in a bowl and mix well.  First add the ice cubes then the "ice bear" in two cold glasses. 

Tip: You can also use Baileys or coffee liqueur.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mocha Milk-Shake with Sherry

(1 glass)

 

2 Tbsp. vanilla ice-cream

1/4 dl. sherry

1 tsp. coffee powder

1 1/2 tsp. sugar

2 dl. whole milk (full cream milk)

 

     Mix all the ingredients together & serve immediately in a tall glass (and with a straw.)

 

Chocalate Special

(1 glass)

 

2 dl. cold chocolate milk

4 Tbsp vanilla ice-cream

1 tsp. powder coffee

cream

2 dl. whole milk (full cream milk)

 

     Mix half the ice-cream, chocolate milk and powdered coffee then pour into a tall glass and add the rest of the ice-cream on top. Add cream (and almonds.)
